Community Health Foundation

The Community Health Foundation was founded in the early 80’s  as the Sierra Vista Hospital Foundation. At its inception, various events were held to raise money for the Hospital, and Memorial Gifts were encouraged from the public.  In 1994 the Foundation became a 501c3 and changed its name to The Community Health Foundation with the mission of raising money for patient care equipment.  The Foundation consists of community members from Sierra County with the welfare of the county’s healthcare first and foremost in their minds.

The existing Foundation is responsible for expenditure of  over one half million dollars, raised for the benefit of Sierra Vista Hospital.  The Community Health Foundation, among its events, has been most successful in hosting an Annual Golf Tournament with a myriad of sponsors and supporters. The Annual Golf Tournament has been held for 12 years and continues to be the number one event that tournament sponsors and golfers, alike, look forward to and support.  The Foundation also operates a Thrift Store that makes good  used items available to the community while supporting the work of healthcare.

Foundation members dedicate their time and efforts to improving health care in Sierra County through many events and Sierra Vista Hospital is grateful for their efforts.

Hospital Auxiliary

AuxShop1Web

The Hospital Auxiliary is an active voluntary arm of Sierra Vista Hospital.  Commonly known as the “PINK LADIES”, the Auxiliary members can be seen throughout the hospital:  visiting and offering assistance to patients, directing visitors from the information desk in the front lobby, assisting various departments with clerical duties, working at the hospital gift shop, providing coffee & snacks in the coffee shop daily and by performing many other “unsung” tasks.

Through their diligent fund raising efforts, the Hospital Auxiliary have purchased and provided to the hospital with several needed items, including:  wheelchairs, IV Poles, a patient lift, air conditioners, and even a CPR dummy for continued education in CPR for the Hospital Staff.

For information concerning the Hospital Auxiliary, or about how you can become a part of this invaluable organization, please contact: Auxiliary President, (570) 894-2111
